Indiana had its first legal sportsbook open in September of 2019 and its sports betting market continues to expand. This is because More Online Sports Betting Options are Coming to Indiana with BetMGM and BetIndiana. Therefore, the total number of Online Sports Betting Options in Indiana will increase to six this year.
According to betting odds websites, BetMGM and BetIndiana are now holders of temporary operating licenses within the state. Thus, both companies will start taking sports wagering clients this year if all goes according to plan.
Looking to Increase their Shares in the Sports Betting Market
BetMGM is the online sports betting branch of MGM Resorts International. Therefore, they have a lot of power behind them. However, they are moving at a slow pace in comparison to other sports gambling companies. In addition, BetMGM is entering the Indiana sports betting market in a joint venture with Roar Digital.
On the other hand, BetIndiana is a new online sportsbook provider in the sportsbook industry. They have a partnership with Spectacle Entertainment which owns Majestic Casino in Gary, Indiana. Furthermore, BetIndiana also uses SportRadar to deliver real-time sports data to its clients.
Even though they are entering the online gambling market at a slower pace, this is because of several reasons. The first is that the company is making a lot of deals to strengthen their brand. In fact, just recently they made a deal with Yahoo Sports to publish their sports betting odds.
Furthermore, BetMGM are now the exclusive partner of the National Lacrosse League. An announcement was made earlier this week which is bound to increase the popularity of lacrosse. At the same time, it will boost betting on lacrosse with BetMGM at the forefront of it.
With these two new sportsbooks in Indiana, sports bettors will have more options to choose from. However, no launch date has yet been given by either company.
