FC Midtjylland signed South Korean Lee Han-beom. According to football betting reports, the center-back will join his compatriot, Cho Gue-sung, on the team’s roster.
The team’s Sporting Director, Svend Graversen, said that Lee had a breakthrough in the K League. He described Lee as athletic, strong, and skilled with the ball. Also, the center-back knows how to use his ability and strength to read the game.
People who bet on football are happy with the recent signing. Lee is a humble man with big dreams. Also, he knows he has a lot of work ahead of him. FC Midtjylland hopes to help Lee continue his development as a player. In addition, they hope that his skills translate from Korean to European football.
Lee Han-beom Signs with FC Midtjylland
The 21-year-old Lee reportedly traveled to Denmark for medical checks over the weekend before the purchase, for 2 billion won ($1.5 million), was made public.
Despite his young age, Lee is an integral component of the FC Seoul side as a defender who can play on either foot. He has participated in 51 K League games since debuting with Seoul last season. He is widely considered one of the best pass defenders in the league this season.
Lee has been successful at home but has had less experience on the global stage. He has been a consistent member of Korea’s U-23 squad for the past year, despite only having one cap to his record, and has made eight appearances for the U-17 team, including in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. For the next Asian Games, he will be representing Korea.
In joining FC Midtjylland this summer, Lee follows ex-Jeonbuk Hyundai Motor forward Cho Gue-sung. Cho, now 25, shot to fame in last year’s World Cup when, in a group-stage encounter against Ghana, he scored two goals to become the first Korean player in World Cup history to score a brace.
