In the latest sports news on the Korean Baseball Organization, or the KBO, The Hanwha Eagles beat the Nexen Heroes 4-3 last Monday. Hitter Kim Tae-kyun got in the go-ahead run with a double at the 9th inning, getting the Eagles a narrow win in Game 3 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. This is game 3 in the first-round series. This is also their first win in the best of 5 series. The first two games were played at home, but the Eagles were unsuccessful in winning. Game 3, was a tight game as well, and kept Hanhwa Eagles betting fans on the edge of their seats. At least until Kim gained the lead with the RBI 2-bagger.
Hanhwa Eagles in the KBO Postseason
When you bet on sports, we always have to take into consideration the numbers and the history of teams, especially when it is already the postseason. In the case of the Eagles, this is their first time to win a postseason game since game 3 of round 1 back in 2007. The teams will face off again for game 4.
Game 3 showed us that all of the players in both teams were doing great, and Hoying recorded the first home run for the postseason for himself, and for the Eagles as well. There was a moment in the 8th when it seemed like the Heroes were going to score, when they had two men aboard and one out. But the Eagles sent in closer Jung Woo-ram, and he got an inning-ending 3-6 double play. This began the play for Kim Tae-kyun to do well in the 9th inning.
Some players from both teams however, seemed to tire out and slow down later in the game, proving how tense this game was. We are hoping for a game 4 that will be just as nerve-wracking as this one.
